1. Were you on time for the class?你准时上课吗?
A: Were you on time for the class?
B: You bet, I was.
甲:你准时上课吗，
乙:当然，是的。
on time表示“准时.。例如:
To our astonishment, they arrived on time.使我们惊讶的是，他们准时到7。
in time表示“及时”。例如:
Can we qet to the station in time?我们能及时到达车站吗?

A: Where were we last time?

A: What can you advise me to do in my present case?
B: I can only tell you how I do at ordinary times.
甲:你觉得以我目前的情况应该怎么办呢，
乙:我只能告诉你我平时是怎么做的。
advise常用搭配:
advise sb.to do sth.建议某人做某事
advise doing sth建议做某事
例如:He advised going to the movie.他建议去看电影。
He advised us to go to the movie.他建议我们去看电影。
6.When should we hand in the paper?我们应该什么时候交论文?
A: When should we hand in the paper?
B: Next Monday.
甲:我们应该什么时候交论文，
乙:下周一。
7.Professor Li, have you finished reading the draft of my thesis?李教授，我的论文初稿您看完了吗?
A: Professor Li, have you finished reading the draft of my thesis?
B: Yes. It took me two weeks to finish that.
甲:李教授，我的论文初稿您看完了吗，
乙:是的，我花了两周的时间才看完。
draft表示“稿子“。例如:
a rough draft草稿
the first draft初稿
draft也有“起草”的意思。例如:
draft a bill起草法案
