　　When asked what kind of school, a boarding or day school or home, is better for1young children's education, some people think a boarding school is more desirablewhile some prefer a day school or home.

　　。Those for“boarding school are justified, I think, in holding that children can learn tobe in一dependent earlier when they are far away from home at an early age. Beingaway from home, young children are less likely to be spoiled by their parents orgrandparents. They have to care for themselves, like washing clothes, buyingnecessities of life etc. They also think that living in a boarding school, together withpeople of the same age, is greatly beneficial to the building一up of children'spersonality. Young children can learn what cannot be learned at home, such asgetting on well with others, the idea of cooperation, collectivism, and caring forothers.

　　However, those for a day school think quite the opposite. They argue that familyeducation is also very important in addition to school education because family careand love amount to much in the development of children's personality, particularly intheir childhood. There will be some psychological defects in a person, like beingindifferent, unsociable, and cruel, if he does not enjoy enough family care andparental love during the formation of his character. The second reason is that youngchildren need parents' supervision and guidance because they are still not matureenough to restrain themselves. Although teachers play apart, they can not spareenough attention for each student.

　　As far as I am concerned, I think there is truth in the arguments of these two parties. Iwould like to have a balanced view-a day school and home living are good forchildren in their childhood.When they are old enough to go to high school, it will bemore desirable for them to go to a boarding school.

　　支持寄宿学校的人持有的观点是寄宿可以使那些在幼年就离开家的孩子更早学会独立。离开‘家可以尽量避免孩子被他们的父母或者祖父母宠坏他们不得不自己照顾自己像洗衣服购买生活必需品等他们还认为生活在一所寄宿学校，与他们同龄人在一起，这更有利于培养孩子们的个性。孩子们可以学到在家中学不到的知识，例如如何与其他人相处、合作的意识、集体观念和如何照顾别人。

　　然而，那些喜欢走读学校的人却并不这么认为。他们认为除了学校教育之外家庭教育同样重要，因为家庭的关心和爱护对正在成长的孩子很重要，尤其是在他们的童年。如果他在性格形成期间没有享受到足够的家庭关怀和父母的关爱，他们将有一定的心理缺陷，例如:冷、淡、不爱交际、残忍。第二个原因就是孩子们需要父母的监督和指导，因为他们还没成熟到能够克制自己。尽管老师也起到一定的作用，但是他们不可能足够重视每一位学生。

　　对我来说，我认为这两个观点都是正确的。我有一个折中的观点-在孩子们的童年时期走读学校对他们更有利。当他们长大要上高中的时候，选择寄宿学校对他们来说更可取。
