雅思范文纸质书籍阅读:

Some people think that printed books are no longer necessary in this digital era as all writings canbe stored electronically. Others think that printed books still play important roles. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. 有人认为纸媒书籍不再重要,因为在数码时代所有文章可以电子储备,有人认为纸媒书籍依然可以发挥重要作用,讨论两种观点?

【首段】背景介绍 + 争议焦点 + 作家立场

Reading has a key role to play in people’s relaxation. Sure enough,it is not rare to see that theenormous popularity of electric equipments, such as iphone and ipad, keeps on soaring. Many people prefer to read e-books rather than the traditional paper books. Hence, people differ greatly in their views as to whether or not the printed books will be still of great necessity. As I see it, paper books could never be substituted because of their unique merits.

【二段】第一次支持作家立场

Primarily, although it is easy to acquire and utilize e-books, it is far from easy, for millions of people, to change their deeply-rooted habits of reading paper books. More precisely, numerous people insist on browsing paper books in traditional way because they can take notes in the blank of a page. A hard truth can justify my stand. Traditional books were often predicted to be replaced by new technology such as the Internet or smart phones in the past several decades, however, this prediction has never been realized until now. Similarly, traditional books will not withdraw from the stage of history due to e-reading.

【三段】第二次支持作家立场

What I would like to add is that a newly published book or magazine could best stimulate one’s reading impulse for the simple reason that a great many readers enjoy the fragrance of paper book and can feel the sense of ownership when holding a book. Unlike using e-books, which is just a sort of fast-food reading, traditional reading enables people to have an in-depth thinking and thus enhance their literacy.

【四段】谈及对立观点的合理性

Indeed, there must be some reasons to account for the popularization of e-reading. Seen from the positive aspects, e-books not only provide words, illustrations and pictures that traditional books have, but also add sounds, moving images and cartoons that printed books cannot offer. Another merit of e-books is that they can be eco-friendly because less paper will be needed. Last, electronic libraries cannot only save more space but also store more information.

【尾段】再次亮明观点 + 总结理由

To sum up, it is my view that under no circumstances can we ignore the immense value of print books and magazines. Printed books and e-reading are not mutually exclusive, for they enjoy respective merits. Therefore, both of them will co-exist, e-books can be a beneficial alternative to traditional books.

雅思口语Part2范文:想再读一遍的书

Describe a book you recently read that you would like to read again.

You should say:

What the book is about

Why you read it

What you learned from this book

And explain why you would like to read it again.

范文

Ok, well after a bit of thought, I’ve decided that the book I’d like to talk about is one called Think Like DaVinci, as it's definitely a book I would like to read again at some point, for reasons I'll come on to shortly.

But firstly though, with regard to what the book’s about, well in a nutshell, it basically explains how all of us have the capability and potential to become a genius, like DaVinci. And it outlines a few various things that he used to do, which we can also get into the habit of doing. So essentially, it puts forward some ideas on how we can all live to our full potential.

Anyway, as for what made me read it, well if my memory serves me correctly, I was browsing around in my local bookshop one day, and the book's cover kind of just caught my eye when I saw the name DaVinci written in big bold letters. So I read a few pages to see if it was any good, and ended up buying it.

I should also mention the fact that I'm quite a big fan of self-help books, because on the whole, I tend to learn quite a lot from them, and this book was definitely no exception. Just to give you an example, I would say I've learned to become much more observant after reading this book, such as generally paying more attention to everything around me. And in so doing, it’s made me appreciate things a lot more.

Of course, there were a number of other things I learned, but nothing else is coming to mind right now, and that's really kind of why I wanna read the book again, because I've forgotten a lot of it. So I kind of need torefresh my memory a little bit!

雅思大作文范文:学生应只学习书本知识?

Should students only learn from books?

Arguments

1. Only books can provide people with the knowledge that makes them educated.

2. The criticism that what students learn today is not adapted to present-day society is utterly wrong because education can never be seen only in terms of how useful the subjects are when students leave school. We ought to evaluate education in terms of how much the students enjoy those subjects and how much they mean to those students.

3. Instead of being trained to be utilitarian~, students should be encouraged to do things for their own sake, for getting satisfaction out of them rather than for what is achieved at the e12

4. Those with a good command of the knowledge provided in books can adapt themselves better to their future life than those without.

5. Those who stress only practical skills and techniques and ignore the function of books are short sighted.

6. Only by urging students to read more, write more and do more exercises can education be improved.

7. Being practical, many children leave school and start earning money at an early age. Because of this, quite a large number of children join the ranks of the illiterate in the country.

8. Without the knowledge provided in books, there is no point in talking about training qualified personnel and fostering versatile talents.

Counter-arguments

1. Education is a gradual extension of oneself. It does not only take place in school buildings. It is a life-long experience.

2. Students should be taught how to live and how to get on with one another. This is more important than reading and writing.

3. Writing, reading and arithmetic don't really matter. What matters is that students should learn to understand the world.

4. Students are so overburdened with classwork and homework that many of~ them do not enjoy good health.

5. Instead of offering students book-learning only, we should encourage them to get to know society so that they will be more adaptable to real life.

6. Many students are spoilt by our present-day educational system. They may be top students at school, but they are at a loss as to how to deal with practical matters.

7. Education is but a failure if it only produces people who are unable to put theory into practice.

8. We should put right the tendency of stressing only students' academic~ achievement and ignoring their moral and physical education.

9. Students, in their formative years, should have a chance to broaden their outlook rather than feel compelled to work towards passing an exam.
