范文

I am a big fan of Chinese history. The major events that happened from the first dynasty, Xia Dynasty, to the last dynasty, Qing Dynasty have been acknowledged by myself. But there is one dynasty that have attracted me since I was young. It was the Tang Dynasty.

My first vague impression of Tang Dynasty is from the stories my mom told me when I was very young. At that time, my mom always told me the stories about Zetian Wu, the first and the only woman emperor in Chinese history, such as how she escaped from the temple when her first husband died, how she became the queen of the country and how she used strategies to let ministers bend over in front of her. These exciting stories grasped my curiosity to dig more about the Tang Dynasty. Therefore, I started to read historical books to involve myself in this period. Xuanwu Gate incident, the power battle between Princess Taiping and Longji Li, and the love story of Longji Li and Lady Yang are all the splendid events that describe the royal life at that time.

What makes these stories fascinating and attractive is the royal family’s struggle between power and family love. Everyone in these historical events would hesitate to defeat or kill their relatives. People involving themselves into these big events always thought about the value of what they were doing. Sometimes readers could even understand their inner heart and think what they have been thinking all the time. Love in exchange for power or power in exchange for love are just two choices of their own heart, but the endings might be so different than the original decisions. That’s what I find interesting about these stories, cruel but sometimes mixed with warmth.

雅思口语childhood memory话题

Describe a happy childhood memory。

You should say:

when and where the incident you remember happened

who you were with

what happened exactly

and explain why it is a happy memory.

I grew up very far from most of my family so I only saw them once a year. Every summer I would go to stay with them, while my parents continued working. Although I missed my parents, Iused to really enjoy spending time with my grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. I spent all summer there, nearly two whole months, so from time to time my cousins and I would get bored. We would ask my grandparents if they had any ideas for interesting things we could do. Sometimes they suggested going for a bike ride, sometimes into town to do some shopping. At other times, they showed us a new game to play. Then we were happy again.

One day - it must be about 12 years ago (doesn't time fly!) - all of us got really, really bored and we kept complaining to my grandparents. They were tearing their hair out, trying to think up ideas of where we could go and what we could do. Suddenly, my granddad came up with the idea of going to a new water park that had opened that summer. I hadn't heard about it but my cousins had, and they told me all about it. It was a park with vast numbers of different pools, some inside, some outside. There were water slides as well. And, on top of there wasnot one, but two play grounds with swings, a merry-go-round, see-saws. We were so excited.

We set off and on the way we were all singing songs and laughing. We couldn't wait to get there. When we arrived,my cousins and I ran into the park and changed into our swimming costumes. Then we went looking for the most exciting looking pool, and we found it, one with brightly coloured tiles and slides, we jumped straight in. We played all day in the park and had a lovely lunch, sat on some benches in the sunshine.

My granddad loved a pool that was filled with spa water. It was dark brown and stank of rotten eggs. I didn't wantto go in but he eventually convinced me. I'm pleased he did because thewater was really warm. I'd never swam in water that warm. I didn't want to get out, despite the terrible smell.

I consider it such a happy memory because we enjoyed ourselves so much and I remember so vividly how I felt that day. But there's more to it than just that. When I look back now, I understand how caring my grandparents were and how much they wanted us all to be happy. They wouldhave done anything to help us have a good time. Iappreciate that more now that I'm older andhave children of my own. I hope we thanked them; I can't remember. But, anyway, they were content, I'm sure, to just watch us have an amazing time, playing and laughing in the water

So, as you can see, it was a wonderful day and is one of my favourite childhood memories.

雅思口语part2高分话题范文参考:

I will talk about my best friend Amit’s family. I have known them for ten years now. I met Amit at college. He was a fun-loving person and soon we became great friends. His home was near our college. As my family lived in another town at that time, I was staying in the hostel. I had some good friends in the hostel but I hated the food they served. Amit knew this. He would frequently invite me to his home. His mother is a kind woman. She is very caring and affectionate. Whenever I visited them she would prepare my favourite dishes and serve them with great love. I found my own mother in her. I also enjoy a great relationship with Amit’s father. He is a retired engineer. We both share the same passion for cricket and electronics. Amit has an elder brother who works in Germany. I have met him only a couple of times and on all those occasions he was extremely cordial. He is like an elder brother to me. Amit now lives in the Middle East and I am in Singapore. We still talk to each other on phone but I haven’t seen him in a year or so. However, I make it a point to visit his parents whenever I am in Bangalore. They are like my own family to me and have always treated me as their own son.

雅思口语犯过的错误话题

Describe a mistake you once made.

You should say:

what it was

how you made this mistake

when it was

and explain how it affected you.

雅思口语part2高分话题范文参考:

The biggest mistake in my life was falling in love with the wrong girl who had a completely different view of life, love and relationship. I was hardly 17 years old when I fall hard for this girl.

Initially, we were classmates and then became friends. In a year I started to feel something about her that was quite extraordinary and hard to explain. I guess people call this 'love'. My whole world started to shift and I was surrounded by a mirage for this whole time. Not a single moment had passed when I didn't think about her. She was the centre and power source of my universe. When I proposed her, she expressed her boundless joys and acted as if I should have proposed her earlier. So far, this is a sweet and innocent love story of a teenager and I was happy to have her in my life.

However, it took me only a few months to realise that she was not serious about our relationship. When she was my whole world, I was her just another temporary boyfriend. The relationship ended in ten months and I was so broken-hearted that I could not concentrate on anything for a while. My parents also knew about it and they were very supportive of me. First few days, it was quite difficult for me to get back to my normal life, study or go outside. I simply could not appease my mind that I made a great mistake and it was like an illusion that I need to come out from soon. However, when I started realising that I made a big mistake by approaching a serious relationship without even knowing the girl genuinely, I started making peace with my mind. I was completely honest with myself and that eventually helped me to get out of the depressive time I went through at that time.

The lesson learned from this mistake made me more cautious about making any kind of relationship and I am happy that I took this mistake as an event to learn a lesson. However, I often feel bad that how someone could be so naive to play with someone's sentiment so cheaply.
