She likes her students very much.
This is my computer. I like it a lot.
②like doing sth.和like to do sth. like doing sth.着重于习惯、爱好;like to do sth.
I like reading, but I don’t like to read this evening.

The little boy looks like his father.
Don't do it like that.
(1)Would you like sth. / to do sth.?
Would you like a cup of tea?
Would you like to come to my birthday party?
(2)How do you like ...?
How do you like your new classmates?
--- How do you like Chinese food?
--- I like it very much.
(3)What do you like about ...?
a)--- What do you like about your pen-friend?
--- His honesty.
b)--- What do you like about this sweater?
--- I like its colour.
Children love playing [to play].
I like walking [to walk] in the rain.
I don’t like you smoking [to smoke].
I love him reading [to read] to me in bed.
I’d like [love] to use your phone.
I’d love [like] to have taken him round the factory, but I was too busy.

(2) 如果要加强喜欢的程度,不能用very修饰,而通常是用very much(其位置是放在 like 之前或like的宾语之后)。
I very much like this film.
正:I like this film very much.
误:I very like this film. /I like very much this film.
She likes him much. /She much likes him.
正:She doesn’t like him much.
Does she like him much?
She likes her husband deeply.
正:She loves her husband deeply.
(4) 表示“更喜欢”时,既可用like (love) …better,也可用like (love) …more。两者的细微区别是 :连用than时多用more,不连用than时多用better。如:
I like tennis more than I like football.
After a few weeks I got to like the job better.
A:Do you like English?
B:Yes, I like it. (or Yes, I do).
She won’t like [love] it if you arrive late.
I don’t like [love] it when she tells me how to do things.
有的词典将 like [love] it if (when)...
He is too lazy. Students like him __________ get good marks in exams.
A. not to B. to not C. don’t D. not
出错的原因主要是受like sb. to do sth. / like sb. not to do sth.
a. He is a bad man, and people like him should be punished.
b. He is a bad man, and people like him to be punished.
a. The boy sings well, and children like him _________ for them.
b. The boy sings well, and children like him _________ trained to be a singer.
A. to sing, to be B. can sing, can be C. to sing, can be D. can sing, to be
■sound like 的意思
Your doctrine certainly sounds like socialism.
Malta sounds like a great place for a relaxing holiday.
It was meant to sound like an epoch-making declaration.
I told her she didn’t have to do that, which sounds like an ungrateful thing to say.
It sounds like an advert: easy on the ear but bland and forgettable.
Whilst this might sound like a truism, it is nevertheless a crucial problem to address.
■sound like 的搭配
What he wants is a switch to a market economy in a way which does not reduce people’s standard of living. To many this sounds like wanting to have his cake and eat it.
That sounds like a child crying.
That sounds like Bill coming up the stairs.
You don’t sound like a foreigner talking English.
