A: David, does it scare you to know that we might one dayrun out of oil?

B: Well, it's true that oil or petroleum, together with otherfossil fuels, are non一renewable. They take millions ofyears to form, and reserves are being depleted muchfaster than new ones are being made. But we need to facethe fact, stay cool and try to find some solutions.

A: I guess you're right

B: You know, fossil fuels are generally believed to haveformed from the fossilized remains of dead plants byexposure to heat and pressure in the earth's crust overmillions of years. So we must find alternatives before werun out of all fossil fuels.

A: Right. I believe it will also help solve some environmentalproblems, because the production and use of fossil fuelshave raised quite a lot of environmental concerns.

B: Yeah, burning oil will release some greenhouse gases, which can lead to global warming.

A: So by cutting down on petroleum and resorting tosome alternative energy, we can help slow down globalwarming or hopefully we can stop it.

B: Ha-ha, let's hope we can do it!

A:对啊。
