deserve这个词的用法有些特别:
a. deserve值得;应受。在现代英语中通常只用作及物动词，且不能用于进行时态。
b. deserve后面接动名词用主动形式表达被动含义，与want, need, require的用法相同，即deserve doing sth.=deserve to be done.但此时不能直接用动名词的被动式。如:
He deserves to punish for making such a serious mistake.(X).
He deserves being punished for making such a serious mistake.(X).
He deserves punishing for making such a serious mistake.(√).
He deserves to be punished for making such a serious mistake.(√).
他犯了如此严重的错误罪有应得。
