dario: i always ask you questions brian. how about you asking me a question this time?

brian: ok - how many times do you go out to restaurants each week?

dario: good question brian. i would say that i eat outside at least three times per week. how about you?

brian: i only eat out about one per month!

dario: why don't you go out to eat?

brian: two reasons. first i am trying to save money, and second, i am trying to improve my cooking skills.

dario: both great ideas! i should come around to your place for an evening of western foods and english conversation.

brian: a fine idea! let's make it next friday night.

dario: you might even be able to teach me something about western foods.

brian: don't forget to bring some wine!

达里奥：总是我问你问题，布朗，这次你问我个问题如何?

布朗：行。你每周下几次馆子?

达里奥：好问题。我得说我每周至少到外面吃三回饭，你呢?

布朗：我大约一个月才出去吃一回。

达里奥：你为什么不到外面去吃?

布朗：好主意!我们就定在下星期五晚上吧。

达里奥：你也许还能教我些西餐方面的知识呢!

布朗：别忘了带点酒来!

dario: if i gave you an airplane ticket to anywhere in the world, where would you choose to go?

brian: that's such a hard question, maybe new york or london.

dario: i would go straight back home to see my family.

brian: well, you are a good son. i want to do some independent travel. i can see my family anytime.

dario: i think that you have to be very brave to travel overseas alone!

brian: but it is very rewarding. you can prove to yourself that you can survive using your own skills.

dario: true. why don't we travel together so we can practice our english all day?

brian: we would need to take a laptop computer though.

dario: why would we take a notebook computer?

brian: so that we could check our emails from xianzai of course!

达里奥：如果我给你张机票，可以去世界任何地方，你会去哪儿?

布莱恩：这可是个很难回答的问题。可能是纽约或伦敦吧。

达里奥：我会直接飞回家看看我的家人。

布莱恩：那你可真是个好儿子。我想自己旅行。我什么时候探家都可以。

达里奥：我想，你独自出国旅行必须得特别勇敢才行。

布莱恩：但这也很值得呀!你可以证明，依靠自己的能力你能够生存下去。

达里奥：对。我们为什么不一起去呢?这样我们就可以整天练习英语了!

布莱恩：那我们应该带部笔记本电脑。

达里奥：为什么要带笔记本电脑呢?

布莱恩：当然了，因为这样我们就可以检查“现在”公司发的email了!

dario: sorry brian, i have to stop here and buy a lottery ticket.

brian: don't tell me you waste your money on the lottery dario.

dario: i buy one ticket every week. why do you say that it's a waste?

brian: you will never win, my friend. do you know the odds of winning the lottery?

dario: the only thing that i know is that i won't win if i don't buy a ticket!

brian: the mathematical chances of you winning the lottery are less than one in 14 billion.

dario: i believe in the old saying that you have to be in it to win it.

brian: i will keep my money in my pocket and not throw it away on gambling!

dario: i will remember your words brian. don't come and ask me for a loan when i win the jackpot.

brian: it's a deal!

戴瑞奥：对不起布莱恩，我得在这停一下买张彩票。

布莱恩：不要告诉我你把钱浪费在彩票上，戴瑞奥。

戴瑞奥：我每星期买一张。你为什么说这是浪费?

布莱恩：你永远也不会中奖，我的朋友。你知道中彩票的几率吗?

戴瑞奥：我只知道如果我一张彩票不买就中不了奖。

布莱恩：你中彩票的数学概率还不到140亿分之一。

戴瑞奥：我相信一句老话，不参与就不会赢。

布莱恩：我会把钱好好放在口袋里，不会浪费在赌博上。

戴瑞奥：我会记住你的话布莱恩。我中了头奖别跑来跟我借钱。

布莱恩：一言为定!

dario: don't open that umbrella inside, brian!

brian: why not? it's wet and needs to dry out.

dario: you will have seven years' bad luck if you open an umbrella inside.

brian: no way - you get seven years' bad luck if you break a mirror.

dario: trust me friend. i opened an umbrella inside once and i have been single ever since.

brian: but that's because you treated your girlfriends poorly - it has nothing to do with the umbrella.

dario: i am just very superstitious, that's all.

brian: you are a modern guy, not some old fashioned fossil!

dario: i just don't want any more bad luck in my life.

brian: ok, i won't open the umbrella if you promise to stop believing in all this superstition stuff.

dario: i will when my luck changes and i win the lottery!

brian: i wouldn't hold my breath if i were you.

戴瑞奥：别在屋里打开伞布莱恩!

布莱恩：为什么不行?伞是湿的，需要晾干。

戴瑞奥：在屋里打伞会给你带来七年的背运。

布莱恩：不可能，打破镜子才会带来七年背运。

戴瑞奥：相信我，朋友。我在屋里打开过一次伞，从那以后一直打光棍儿。

布莱恩：那是因为你对你的女朋友不好，跟伞一点儿关系都没有。

戴瑞奥：我就是很迷信。

布莱恩：你生活在现代，不是一个守旧的老古板。

戴瑞奥：我只是不想再碰上坏运气了。

布莱恩：好吧，如果你不再相信这些迷信的玩意儿我就不打开伞。

戴瑞奥：除非我的运气转变，中上彩票。

布莱恩：如果我是你，就不白费工夫。
