商务英语之酒店订房

酒店订房叫reservation (Advance Reservation.),如:I want to make a reservation.我想预订。口语里常用booking.

Restaurant:在酒店里面的Restaurant称为餐厅,在酒店外叫饭馆或者餐馆都可以。

电压:在国外使用自带电子设备,请确认该国的电压符合你的设备要求,我国使用的是220伏特50Hz的交流电;有的国家使用的是110伏特60Hz的交流电,如日本和美国是110V。如果你的设备不支持此电压,可能会被损坏,严重点的还可能引发火灾。切不可粗心大意哦!~~

旅客类型:Walk-In 敲门客:指没有预订的而随意上门入住的客人,区别于事先有预订的客人;如果你只有一个人去订酒店旅馆,那么称为散客,用英文表达为:F.I.T.(Free Individual Touerist),而与之对应的是以团体形式入住的,如旅行团和会议团体;相对于零星的个人旅客而言的。用英文表达:G.R.P(Group)。

DND = Do Not Disturb:请勿打扰;

PA = Public Area 公共区域;

在西方国家流行给服务员小费(Tips=To Insure Prompt Service),听说是因为服务员的工资比较低的原因。

有时你需要用到酒店的电话服务,这些词汇需要牢记于心:

Operator 总机话务员;

Extension 分机;

分机号如:863,可表述为:Extension Number 863;简称为:Ext. No. 863;

Outside line.电话外线。

Collect Call (对方付费电话):指由接听方付款的一种形式。在某一国家以及国际长途中有这一业务。

LDD = Local Direct Dial市话

Long-distance call.长途电话。

DDD = Domestic Direct Dial国内直拨

IDD = International Direct Dial国际直拨

Check in 登记入住,与此对应的是:Check out 结帐离店;

出差在外,怕睡过头,怎么办?酒店和旅馆一般都有叫醒服务(Morning call 早上叫醒;Wake-up Call 下午或晚上叫醒),你可以提前告诉前台。
