1.通过信号词判断观点。
在下面的段落中，Tom和Bill的观点都是通过信号同表明的。
“In my opinion,”Tom said, “The Egyptian pyramids are the world's greatest wonder.
Although they were built thousands of years ago, they are standing still there.”
“I agree that the Egyptian pyramids are wonderful,” Bill said, “But I believe computers aremore wonderful than the pyramids. They have taken people to the moon and brought them backsafely.”
In my opinion明确表明了Tom的观点，而Bill的观点则是首先用I agree来承认Tom的观点可以接受，然后再通过but加强自己的观点。
2.根据上下文大胆设想和推论，进行综合归纳，了解意图。
要学会善于联想，揭示事物之间的相关性，根据上下文顺藤摸瓜，得出结论。例如：
A: What a waste of money just for a new arts center!Why couldn't the money be spent onsomething more important?
B: Nothing is more important than the arts.
上段对话中虽未明确说出A不喜欢艺术，但从说话口气中，特别是用a waste of money间接地说明他对艺术不感兴趣。而B的态度是根据A的说话内容推断出来的：花钱建艺术中心是值得的，同时表明B是热爱艺术的。
