　　Obviously, the earliest teachers we have in our lives in most cases are our parents,and they are generally the most involved in the development and education of theirchildren. Yet neither are all parents good teachers nor are those good parents, inmost cases, the best teachers.

　　First of all, not all parents are good teachers. As normal individuals，some parentsmore or less have bad habits. Even though parents almost instinctively devotethemselves to cultivating their offspring, the outcome might turn out to bedisappointing, for all children tend to unconsciously or subconsciously copyeverything from their parents. Another deficiency of parents as teachers is the factthat most parents lack the common senses of education. All too often we observethat some parents tend to pursue their own cherished but failed dreams by forcingtheir children to develop in a prearranged direction.

　　Moreover, some parents are qualified as good teachers, but not all of them are thebest ones. When children are in the preliminary school，it is not surprising thatparents are capable of teaching their children almost every subject. But the situationwill not last long. We live in a world where knowledge is accumulated by multiplyingand at the same time becomes more and more specialized. Therefore，to be aprofessional in a certain field today takes a much long time than ever before. Noparent is able to be professional in all fields, though they might be experts in one ormore fields.

　　Most parts of children's education is virtually beyond teachers' reaches. In a word，itis rather superficial to simply say that parents are the best teachers.

　　首先，不是所有的父母都是好老师。作为一个普通人，有些父母或多或少有一些坏习惯。即使父母几乎本能地投入于培养他们的孩子，但是结果可能令人失望。因为所有的孩子都趋向于下意识地或者刻意地模仿他们父母的行为。父母作为老师的另一个缺点是大多数父母缺乏教育孩子的常识。我们常常看到这种情况，父母通过强迫他们的孩子按照制定好的计划发展方向来实现他们自己向往但是却没有实现的梦想。

　　其次，虽然一些父母能成为好老师，但都不是棒的那一个。当孩子还在初级学校时，父母有能力在几乎所有科目上指导孩子。但是，这种情况并不会持续太久。我们生活在一个知识飞速积聚并且专业化越来越突出的时代，因此，在今天成为某个领域的专家比以前困难得多。尽管一些父母可能是一个或者多个领域的专家，但是没有人可以精通所有领域。

　　孩子们大部分的教育实质上在父母的能力范围之外。概括来讲，简单地说父母是比较好的老师是很不全面的。
