剑桥雅思作文范文篇一:

Topic: Environmental problems should be solved by the government instead of individuals and private companies. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

题目:环境问题应该有政府来解决,而不是个人和私营企业。你是否赞同该观点?

Environmental protection is no doubt a major issue confronting the modern society with the development of new technologies and the explosion of world population. While the issue is certainly relevant to each individual citizen and all the companies, some people contend that only the government should be concerned about protecting the environment. I concede that the government should lead the efforts in addressing the environmental problems. Nevertheless, cooperation and participation from the corporations and individual citizens are essential as well.

There is no doubt that the government is the agency that should play the leading roles in solving the environmental problems. To begin with, with the power to collect taxes from individual citizens and private companies, the government have the financial resources that are necessary to deal with environmental issues. In addition, the government may formulate policies to provide incentives for the companies and individuals to reduce the amount of pollution caused by their activities. Finally, the government is the only institution that may enact laws related to environmental problems.

On the other hand, without the cooperation and participation of individual citizens and private companies, the government's efforts to protect the environment would not be effective. For example, the government may launch a campaign to educate the public about the desirability of driving compact cars for reducing the air pollution. The campaign would make little difference if the individuals pay little attention to the information or do not care about the environment at all. Nor would the government's goal be achieved if the car manufacturers do not produce more compact cars for the market. In other words, the government alone cannot solve the problem of environment. It takes the collaborative efforts from individual and corporate citizens to improve the situation.

In conclusion, I agree that the government should take the responsibility to lead the society in addressing the problems of environmental pollution as it has the power and resources necessary to do so. Nonetheless, individual citizens and private companies have to be engaged if the government is to accomplish anything.

剑桥雅思作文范文篇二:

题目:In modern world, it is no longer necessary to use animals for food or products, for instance, clothing and medicines. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Animals have always been the sources of human food, clothes, medicine or other products since human civilization began. Some people, however, claim that human use of animals is no more necessary in modern time. Even as an animal lover, I am against this view myself.

On the one hand, animal meat, by providing necessary nutrition (protein , fat) and energy, is essential to human health. Living in this competitive modern world, our energy consumption doubles with the increasing living pressure. When we are exhausted after a long day`s work, a wonderful meal of steak or chicken may be the best way to revive our vigor.

On the other hand, for human survival, it is crucial to extract valuable substance from animals for medical purpose. Only certain animals can provide a cure for some fatal disease, say, cancer, and it is common sense that a man's life is of more importance than that of an animal in extreme situations.

Exploiting animals for clothes, however, is unnecessary. It is extremely cruel to slaughter minks or seals to make fur coats. Fashion means torture for defenseless animals. In modern society, high-tech materials can replace fur to keep human warm in cold winter.

In spite of the fact that we have every reason to use animals for food and pills out of necessity, we should always keep in mind that no wild or endangered animals are to be harmed for human interest. As the most powerful creature on the earth, we should be grateful for the sacrifice of animals we herd.

剑桥雅思作文范文篇三:

题目:Economic progress is one way to measure a country's success. Some people believe there are other factors. What other factors should be considered? Do you think that any one of them is more important than the others?

A successful country, the definition of which though does not gain a consensus, means more than just one factor. (定语从句,插入语)

Economy is widely recognized as a crucial criterion to judge a nation because it is a sound economic development that determines the living standard and that provides financial resources to other domains of a society including education, scientific research and public health. In addition, there is a close association between wealth and low crime rate. (被动句,原因状语从句,强调句,非谓语)

However, economic status is not the only consideration in the judgment of a nation and there are a variety of other elements to define an ideal society. A healthy natural environment would make sure that our next generation can keep living on the earth. Healthy lifestyles make healthy and happy workers who are able to make contribution to his/her community. In addition, dynamic and characteristic culture and democratic politics is universally desirable and is seen as a symbol of progress and civilization. (并列句,there be 句型,定语从句,宾语从句)

Among these factors, I believe that education is the fundamental one to judge whether a country is successful or not. The major reason is that education determines whether a country can succeed economically in a sustainable way. Without education of high quality, there would be deficient labour force of high quality to ensure a long term economic boom which in modern high-tech and information society requires much more well-educated professionals with the spirit of innovation and creation than in the industrial society. Education also makes incredible contribution to other important sectors. It helps lower the crime rate and increase public awareness to the environment, health and politics. (宾语从句,表语从句,双重否定句,定语从句,比较句型)

剑桥雅思作文范文篇四:

题目: Mobile phones and the Internet play an important role in the way people relate to one another socially. Is this a positive or negative development?

Now you are benefitting from the use of the mobile phone and the Internet as social interaction media, could you imagine what your daily lives would be without these inventions? Living in this age of information technology may be a blessing, but there seems to be an undesirable feeling under disguise.

It has become incredibly easy to contact each other electronically and share information instantly in social community. Through digital networking, the cell phone and the Internet have updated the lives of the current generation. Gone are the days when people could only communicate via fixed telephone or writing letters which took several days to reach others. Apart from being able to connect people anywhere and anytime, new cell phones combined with Internet technology boast cutting-edge functions ( sharing photos and videos with more friends simultaneously ), all at your fingertips, no one is not crazy about Facebook and Twitter that are on their computer screens or smart phones.

In spite of the merits mentioned above, never should we turn a blind eye to the defects of this technological progress. First and foremost, excessive use of the Internet and mobile phones has been undermining our interpersonal relationship offline. Even during a face-to-face conversation, it is no rare thing that everyone is busy looking at his cell phone, neglecting his friends or families across the dinner table. Worse still , the users` privacy is at stake on line. Chances are that they may unconsciously leak their personal information by posting pictures or exposing profiles that strangers can get access to. That is why cyber fraud is becoming increasingly rampant there. This channel of committing crimes can bring more looming hazards than a daylight robbery.

As far as social interaction is concerned, the benefits of the cellular and the Wi-Fi seem indeed too good to be blamed as long as the users keep it under control.
