　　Throughout my life I have been lucky to have a good relationship with my parents. They have supported me,given me necessary criticism, and taught me a great deal about how to live my life. 　　Parents may be too close to their children emotionally. Sometimes they can only see their children through the eyes of a protector. They may limit their children' s freedom in the name of safety. For example, a teacher might regard a trip to a big city as a valuable experience. 　　Another problem is that parents may expect their children' s interests to be similar to theirs. If they love writing, for example, they might try to force their children to follow suit. But what if their children' s true interest is in science or car repair? Conflicts may arise. Moreover, parents are usually eager to pass on their value to their children. But they forget that society has undergone tremendous changes. What is valued by the parents might not be embraced by the children. For example, many Chinese people prefer to have an extended family with several generations under one roof. Most youngsters, however, think it unacceptable because they prioritise freedom and independence in their life.The importance of parents as teachers can never be denied.
