一般现在时的用法：
1. 表示计划或安排：即表示在现阶段已经计划好或安排好要发生的情况，或表示时间表上所安排的并且一定要做的事情。如：
The train leaves at six o’clock. 列车6点钟开出。
The concert begins at 7:30 and ends at 9:30. 音乐会定于7:30开始，9:30分结束。
火车几点开出这是根据时刻表的安排进行的，必须如此;音乐会几点开始和几点结束是事先安排好的，具体执行时必须照办。
2. 表示将来意义：根据英语习惯，当主句表示将来意义时，它相应时间状语从句和条件状语从句等，必须要用一般现在时表示将来意义，而不能直接使用将来时态。如：
I’ll let you know as soon as I hear from her. 我一接她的信就通知你。
We’ll stay at home if it rains tomorrow. 如果明天下雨，我们就呆在家里。

瞬间动词的进行式用法：

如果主语为复数，某些动词的现在进行时往往有“不断”或“一个接一个”的含义，如：

Men are dropping with malaria, dysentery and simple starvation. 士兵们由于疟疾、痢疾或仅仅因为饥饿一个接一个地倒了下去。
一般现在时表将来的用法：
一、表示按规定、时间表、计划或安排要发生的动作。如：
Are you on duty next weekend? 下周末你值班吗?
The train leaves at 12:00. 火车12点开出。
Where do we go now? 我们现在到哪里去?
注意：在此用法中，句中通常有具体的时间状语。
二、当主句为将来时态时，与之相关的by the time后接的从句要用一般现在时表示将来意义。如：
By the time he comes, I will have left. 等他到时，我会已离开了。
The film will have started by the time we get to the cinema.我们到电影院时电影会已经开始了。
