What I mean is that the chances of getting injured are not great.

My favorite sport is table tennis, also known as ping-pong. Please allow me to explain. Firstly, it is very healthy for a young person like myself. For example, it will help to develop my reflexes. Secondly, it is an indoor sport. What I mean to say is that we are able to play it irrespective of the weather conditions. In my hometown, this is important because of the long winters. Thirdly, the equipment needed to play table tennis is inexpensive. For instance, you can use any table of a reasonable size. Al you then need is a ball, two bats, and a net. Lastly, table tennis is a sociable sport. That is to say, two or four people can play at one time, while a number of spectators can enjoy the game as well.

139. Do men and woman prefer the same sports? ( 5 - 8 )

That’s an interesting question. Allow me to explain my personal views by shortly mentioning the following points: Firstly, there are few sports in which woman do not participate these days. For example, the woman’s football team from China did well in the Woman’s World Cup held in Germany recently.

140. What sports are played in your country? ( 5 - 8 )

There are many sports played in China. Allow me to mention a few examples. Basketball and football is played mainly by the younger generation. Football is popular amongst Chinese ladies. We have a strong national team who has done well in the recent World Cup. All age groups play table tennis, better known as ping-pong. Because it is an indoor sport, it is particularly popular in winter. Because of their relatively small physique, Chinese people play the so-called small-ball games like badminton well. Swimming, skating, and volleyball are popular as well.

141. What is the most popular sport in your country? ( 5 - 8 )

That’s a tough question. Allow me to explain my personal views by shortly mentioning the following points: Firstly, I believe football is the most popular sport. That’s a good question. Allow me to explain my personal views by shortly mentioning the following points: Firstly, I suppose the sporting facilities are acceptable. For example, we are able to play any sport that we like. The problem is that the facilities are not available to everyone. At the moment many of the facilities are owned by universities and are available only to the students of that particular university only. Lastly, I believe the fact that the Olympic games are being held in China in 2008 will help to solve the problem to some extent. For example, the government will have to build many new stadiums and facilities in the next six years. Hopefully after the games, these new facilities will become available to the general public.

143. What other sporting facilities would you like to see in your region? ( 5 - 8 )

Firstly, I would like to see more baseball courts that are open to the general public. For example, at the moment many of the courts are owned by universities and are available only to the students of that particular university. Secondly, I believe more youth centers should be built in our cities. This would help in getting young people to engage in physically healthy activities, and not sit in front of computers and TV’s all day long.

雅思口语运动范文

雅思口语运动范文篇二:有点贵的运动

Describe a sport that you prefer to do and is a little expensive

You should say

What it is

How much it usually costs

Who usually do it with

And explain why you like to do this activity

范文

Even though people say it’s quite costly, it’s meant for the rich, but I would love to play tennis one day.

I knew just a bit about this sport, but it’s not too hard to estimate the price. As an amateur, at least I should have a nice Nike or Adidas which up to now is about 50 USD, not to mention other fancy sportswear like T- shirt, shorts and socks. For equipment, bats, bat bags and also I should never forget safety equipment, sadly, it’s said that the higher it costs the better, so I’m gonna give it around 200 USD. So that would be 250 USD in total. Quite expensive I’m afraid. Anyway, my dad, who is not only motivated, but also knowledgeable about the sport, would definitely be my go-to partner. I guess the reason why I’m into this quite-expensive sport firstly is because of its intense, intensive practice, intensive competitiveness, for example, which helps increase my patience and focus. In addition, such independent sport makes me feel rewarded, feel proud because what I’ve won actually is myself.

雅思口语运动范文篇三:保持健康的运动

Describe an activity you do to keep fit.

You should say:

what you do

when you started doing it

how much time you spend doing it

and explain how this activity helps you keep fit.

Well, I’m sure I’m not the only one guilty of owning a gym membership that sits gathering dust in a drawer somewhere. I get my exercise mainly from cycling.

I can’t remember exactly when I started cycling, but it was when I was around 5 or 6 years old. My dad taught me by pushing me down a hill and wishing me luck! There were a few bumps and bruises to begin with, but eventually I was riding all by myself and you know what they say, 'you never forget how to ride a bike'.

I lack the motivation to go to the gym regularly, but I can fit cycling into my daily routine seamlessly. What’s more, I never get bored of being in the saddle. I ride to and from work and sometimes go out for longer rides on my days off. In fact, it’s not unheard of for me to slip on a pair of Lycra shorts and take a 50 or 60 mile jaunt on a weekend.

Cycling is a great way to keep fit as it burns calories and there is less impact on your joints than other sports, such as running. As well as my body, cycling could help my mind. Some people say it helps you sleep longer and more deeply, in addition to reducing stress, all of which can only be a good thing.

雅思口语运动范文篇四:选择适合自己的运动

Well, I picked a sport that I think is pretty easy to explain. I don't really know if you'd call it a sport or not. Anyways, I chose bowling. Bowling is a sport that just requires you to roll a ball along the floor and to knock over some targets. Those targets are called bowling pins. There are either 5 or 10 pins lined up about 20 meters in front of you. You just need to knock them all down by rolling the balls down the aisle. If you can't knock them all down then you can receive some points for ones you do knock down. The rules are not complicated. You can't step over the line when you roll the ball down the aisle, and you can't throw the ball. That's about it. The scoring system is done automatically these days. When I was young we had to manually calculate it, but nowadays it's easy.

I think the skill in bowling is really in how you practice your stroke when you release the ball. The balls can be influenced by the slightest spin, so you have to give just the right little flick of the wrist when you release it. It's not just a matter of keeping your arm straight as many people assume. So the best thing to do is just keep practicing and experimenting with different ways to throw the ball. If you just keep leaving it to luck, you will not improve, but if you try different ways of releasing the ball you will inevitably find a consistent style. Also, you need to know how to hold the ball. If you always cup the ball, you wont be able to create the kind of spin that knocks down balls efficiently.
