Brown: What is the girl over there doing? She seems to be having a serious conversa tion with a staff on a toy telephone.
Nancy: That is Mr. Dickerson, the director of Marketing Department, using role playing technique to ask the girl's comments on a toy. The girl has been told to pretend to be a mother talking to a friend over the phone about the toy.
Brown : Why not ask her directly?
Nancy: Children in a role-playing situation may be better able to egress their true eelings by projecting themselves into others' roles.
Brown : This is very interesting. To know what children feel, you have to know what theythink.
Nancy: We are expert on children. We know what children like to do, to eat.... Oh, wehave prepared free food and beverage for visitors. Do you want to join us for lunch?
Brown : I'd like to, but I have to be back to my office before 12 o'clock. I am afraid I amrunning behind my schedule already.
