Fischer: Yes, I made the pledge on the fifth anniversary of the C&E Foundation. It is an initiative to start the campaign, Which aims at bolstering the efforts of the C&EFoundation, a nonprofit organization that coordinates efforts of governments andorganizations.
Reporter: What motivated you to propose the campaign?
Fischer: I was struck by the poor living conditions in the rural areas of some of the eveloping countries where I visited last year. Children there do not have access to safe water and each year tens of thousands of children are inflicted by water-related diseases. This campaign is to raise the awareness and support programs that help wipe out the waterproblems in those areas.
